Saatva mattresses are provided by Saatva, a manufacturer of mattresses such as Loom and Leaf and Zenhaven. The Saatva is an innerspring mattress with three firmness options (Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm) and two heights (11.5″ and 14.5″).

Saatva is a unique product in the field of modern mattresses because it is an innerspring, not a bed-in-a-box hybrid. This means that it has less foam and more springs, giving you the same feeling as previous traditional spring mattresses. Although this feel is not ideal for everyone, it is ideal for those who need additional support.

We decided to review the Luxury Firm model with a height of 11.5 inches, and concluded that it is a high-quality innerspring mattress suitable for all kinds of sleepers.

For sleepers looking for an accessible price on a premium mattress with an innerspring feel, the Saatva Mattress provides a well-rounded option.

What is the Saatva Mattress Made of?

Let’s dive under the covers and see what’s happening inside the mattress.

Cover: The soft and breathable Saatva lining is made of 100% cotton. It is also quilted with a small amount of foam providing immediate comfort and relief.

Pillow top: The Saatva pillow top section is covered with a thin memory foam and is almost entirely composed of individually wrapped coils.

This layer provides excellent bounce on the bed and helps sleepers sit more on top of the mattress than sinking into the bed. Because these coils are individually wrapped, they can also isolate movement and promote air circulation throughout the structure of the mattress.

How Firm is the Saatva Mattress?

Similar to other sinkage tests, evaluating firmness includes placing a 6-pound medicine ball, a 10-pound steel ball, a 50-pound medicine ball and a 100-pound medicine Ball on the top of the mattress and evaluating how much the surface is compressed.

The changes in size, weight and density are designed to simulate human body parts and sleepers of different sizes.

How Saatva Mattresses Compare to Other Mattress Brands

Saatva vs Purple Mattresses

The Saatva mattress is traditionally designed with internal springs whereas the Purple mattress is made of a patented material called Hyper-Elastic Polymer, which provides a unique gel feel.

In addition, Saatva offers three different levels of resistance, while Purple has only one.

In terms of price, the Saatva mattress is more expensive than the Original Purple, but not as expensive as the Purple Hybrid model.

Saatva vs Layla Mattresses

Unlike the Saatva innerspring mattress, Layla mattresses are flippable, double-sided beds made of soft memory foam. It is also cheaper than the Saatva option, which is a plus for budget-conscious shoppers.

Although Layla mattresses are suitable for all types of sleepers, it is not the best for bulky people. The Saatva HD is clearly the winner in this category.

Saatva vs Casper Mattresses

There are a few differences between Saatva and Casper.

The Casper mattress has soft neutral-foam feel, while the Saatva bed has an innerspring feel.

With Saatva, you can choose the firmness or softness of the mattress, but the original Casper has only one firmness.

The original Casper is cheaper than Saatva, but the price of its hybrid model is comparable.

Couples should also consider motion isolation which dampens your partner’s movements. The Saatva Classic’s memory foam and individually wrapped coils improve motion isolation and reduce the chance of disruption during rest.

Sleep experts recommend keeping the bedroom cool enough to help you fall asleep. It is also important to have a breathable mattress, which allows air to pass through, so that it is not too hot at night.

The Saatva tried to solve this problem by individually wrapping the top layer of coils. This coil system stimulates air flow in and through the mattress.
