Airweave came to become a household name after providing bedding for the elite athletes at Tokyo’s 2020 Olympic games. But this isn’t the only thing that stands out about this unique brand.

Airweave has innovation at its heart, composing its mattresses from new, airfiber® technology.

These mattresses are comfortable, have good edge support, offer impressive cooling and, unlike most mattresses on the market, are completely washable.

The Airweave Mattress Advanced is available in six sizes, meaning that you won’t struggle to find an option that fits your current bedframe and bedding well.

The brand also offers an impressive 10 year limited warranty and a 100 night trial offer to ensure you are entirely satisfied with your purchase.

Who Is the Airweave Mattress Advanced Best For?

The Airweave Mattress Advanced is best suited to individuals weighing under 200lbs who are seeking a comfortable and quiet night’s sleep. It will serve the needs of back sleepers and stomach sleepers alike, but could prove to be too firm for regular side sleepers.

It’s good to bear in mind that this mattress is customizable, with a DUAL-MODE airfiber block in its centre that can be flipped to choose either a regular side or a firm side. This could prove useful for anyone who likes to switch up their sleeping positions over time.

One of the best features of the Airweave Advanced is that it is fully washable. This can make it an ideal choice for those who experience leaks or spills on their bed, whether from food, children having accidents, pets or any other issues that would usually be extremely difficult to clean up effectively.

Airweave Mattress Advanced Firmness

Airweave Mattress Advanced Core Perhaps one of the best features of the Airweave Mattress Advanced is that when you choose this mattress, you’re not committing yourself to a specific level of support. You can easily customize the firmness of this mattress, thanks to removable and replaceable blocks within it. The Advanced model features a DUAL-MODE airfiber block that will be placed in the middle of the mattress. It features one regular side and one firm side. You can find which works best for you and flip the block to the side that provides you with the best night’s sleep. The mattress also comes with a cushioned pillow top layer for softness. You can choose to use this or store it away, depending on how much you want to sink into your mattress when you get into bed.

Airweave Mattress Advanced Cover

Airweave Mattress Advanced Construction and Specs

The majority of people choose from a common array of mattress types and materials depending on their personal preferences. Spring mattresses tend to be good in terms of support, but can often creak and make noise as you move across the bed.

Memory foam mattresses can be soft and comfortable, but we often find that they begin to sag with time or are simply not firm enough for those seeking a more supportive sleeping option.

Airweave has introduced a new form of mattress technology to provide the best of both worlds – airfiber®. This is a new proprietary technology and material that makes up the core of all Airweave mattresses and accessories.

It has a unique, interwoven design that helps you to move easily, evenly distributes weight and allows airflow through the mattress to help keep you cool and comfortable at night.

Each Airweave Mattress Advanced is constructed from:

  • airfiber® core: Polyethylene 100%
  • Outer Cover: Polyester 100%
  • Inner Cover: Rayon 70%, Glass Fiber 30%
  • 2 Soft Layers: Polyester 100%

Airweave Mattress Performance

Sleeping Hot or Cold

The unique airfiber® technology used in the Airweave Mattress Advanced promotes airflow through the mattress, making it an ideal option for those who tend to overheat in their sleep, or couples who find that too much body heat builds up throughout the night.

It is a breathable option that can help to maintain a comfortable body temperature throughout the night.

Motion Transfer

If you share your bed with someone else, a mattress’ motion transfer becomes important. This is how much you feel movement on one side of the bed when lying on the other side of the bed.

We found that there is a fair amount of motion transfer when sleeping on the Airweave Mattress Advanced. While there are mattress with much higher motion transfer, this is a pricey mattress and we would expect less motion transfer for the price tag.

This may not be the most suitable mattress for those who share a bed with a partner and are easily disturbed in their sleep.

Edge Support

We found that the Airweave Mattress Advanced has great edge support – some of the best we’ve experienced. Edge support measures how close to the side of the bed you can sleep without the mattress dipping or collapsing, causing you to slide or fall off the edge of the bed.

Airweave’s well-supported edges make the mattress feel bigger and is ideal for couples who want to maximize the space available to them.

Durability

Airweave claim that their mattresses should last between 10 and 15 years, as long as they are used properly. While this is an impressive claim, with many mattress manufacturers noting that you should consider changing your mattress once every eight years, it is important to consider the weight limit that this claim is based on.

Airweave has tested the Airweave Mattress Advanced for use by individuals weighing up to 220lbs. If you weigh more than this, the mattress may not hit this 10 to 15 years of expected use.

Off-Gassing

Off-gassing is an odor that many new mattresses will give off when you first unbox or unpackage them in your home.

This is particularly common with memory foam mattresses, as they tend to be produced using toxic chemicals which leave a lingering smell. It can also occur with boxed mattresses or mattresses using mattress-sealing, as they are packaged in a way that traps chemical byproducts until they are opened.

Airweave Mattresses are produced in a way that results in minimal off-gassing. If you open your mattress and find that there is a smell, this could be coming from the packaging and should dissipate within 48 hours.

Noise

We found that the Airweave Mattress Advanced is a great option for anyone looking for a quiet mattress. It produced no notable noise during regular nighttime activities, such as turning over. Airweave’s airfiber® technology means that the majority of the mattress is composed of air, minimizing squeak and creaks.
